Yea, sure, and encouraging people to see the end of it makes no sense and does not actually put them in danger for a reward. -.-

Seriously, BM madness is one of the most random and pointless things in this game, let alone for the fact that is is highly random if you "get" it or not.
Putting up something to balance it, and also putting in some risk, is about the 2nd best you can do here, right after removing it.

just like in life not everything produces a reward, in fact there are far more things that simply suck than those that do not.

your birth being a pristine example.

the horrible game known as eve being another one.

You do not need to project your self-hatred onto others. :P

Also, there is no point in discussing this with you, as you would not admit I had a good idea even if it was the best that has ever been, granted, this does probably not qualify as best idea ever, nor does arguing with you will do anything.

Also, Dallane yea, I almost forgot why I usually ignore all his posts...

if a volcano erupts and you are unlucky enough to be close to it do you get a reward after being crushed by a giant half molten boulder that landed on your house?

likewise why the ***** would you get a reward of lower insanity when witnessing and then being exposed to an "insane" phenomena? if anything a bloodmoon should cause you to gain insanity at a rate of about 1 level per hour of outside exposure.

So there is a vulcano near you that erupts every 1-2 weeks, that does indeed explain your constant bad mood. ¦]

I would not be opposed to a slight reduction in either insanity or madness at the end of a bloodmoon, as the relief of something so terrifying finally being over would be a load off anyone's mind. But at the same time, I think the increase in madness should remain (perhaps only one level), but the insanity rate gain during bloodmoon should be tripled. After all, if we're being realistic, the terror wouldn't just all hit you at once in the beginning, and not at all if you were sleeping when it happened; no, you be unsettled the entire time.

tripled? you don't have crime alts to look after! Increased makes sense though sure, and perhaps people who missed the beginning of the blood moon should gain +1 madness level when they enter its light the first time.

When the Blood Moon appears, dead bodies should suddenly explode in a blast of putrid corpse gases and damage everything in a large radius for 6.66 damage and have a high probability of afflicting disease.

Maybe this should be multiplicative, so that a pile of bodies would effectively nuke an area (Providence, for example), permakilling everyone and destroying vital structures that can later be repaired by players using thousands of walnuts.

Skeletons should reanimate and attack anyone nearby. If none exist in a 25-unit radius, they should claw their way up from beneath the earth. Additionally, five skeletons in close enough proximity should combine into a 666-bile Skulltron with a giant sword and a variety of ranged attacks.

Get on it, Devs.

It gets a bit dark for a second if someone fails to summon a bloodmoon i think. Not sure if its when they fail or just try to summon but takes time

Yea, and not being online in that one minute means you can't even tell if theres gonna be one or not,

Good that the client is written in Java, I should look into it an put in a function that notes such an event when it happens, then have an alt logged in all the time near the end of each season to catch that moment.

Any game that demands such things has serious design flaws, that's for sure.
