I think the real moral of the story is cover your scents or don't leave any.

Moral of the story is to not commit criminal activities at all!

lol well wish in one hand and **** in the other then, see which one fills up first.

of course it is an intended use of mechanics, you can break right through the wall anytime you like if you want to get to the guys scents.

If you don't own your own scents you have to prevent them from grabbing them in some way or another.

I get that it's within the rules, I just didn't think when the rules changed that the devs said to eachother, players can just do this ^^ and were happy with it. Maybe. Rarely do I ever see any system in any game come out as I would have done it :)

I still play, so it doesn't bother me all that much, just didn't see this as intended, allowable yes, but not intended. I guess I'm not creative as some of you guys.

Why wouldn't that be allowed. If they wanted to prevent this then they would have made it where you cannot build on top of your own scent. I have seen cases where a pClaim was destroyed and the person used items from the persons claim that was there to slap a pilgrims hovel on top of the scent and then a pClaim down beside it. What is to stop a person from doing that currently? Nothing. So why would surrounding someones claimed scent be invalid.

The actual story of this (probably about to paint a target on my back) is I was walking around and came across a leanto with nothing but a metal ax on the character. I grabbed it built a kiln on top of the scents and walked off. 20 Minutes later Goodman was standing at my front door of my base and when I came out to greet him like a kind karing pilgrim he shot me in the face and then ran after me and started to stab the crap out of me.

I got back into my base and he called me a P***y and said something to the nature of "This is the problem with Salem players all of them are p***ys and afraid of PVP. So after I gather my wits I ran back out of my base and ruffed him up a little. After about 5 minutes, give or take, of going back and forth he had no yellow bile and was obviously very low on blood. So I told him "I was board with him." and walked off. He then told me who he was and that he was KKK. Like a fool I kined him during that time. The moment I logged off I was locked in the stockades.

After bailing myself out I went back to my base and noticed that there was a new leanto right beside my base. Upon inspection I noticed this leanto was wearing some combat gear that was obviously not making the cut for a main raider character but good enough for a BS alt to sit beside a base for later. Most likely this was the setup for a TBC so I put down a headstone on the leanto and destroyed it. I logged off and hoped everything was good.

I logged on the next day to find myself yet again in the stockades so I began to take actions to prevent stockades again including keeping the character on for 48 hours straight (BTW madness was of no issue only gained one level not sharing how I did that just feel like bragging about it).

Per expert advice I went to double check my scents and found the area in the picture with a new claim placed on it and my kiln destroyed with the boxes there to collect scents. I put the donut claims up and covered the scents. Then to ensure that a TBC was not used against me locking me to my claim I took the fast travel guy to the far north. Everyday I progressed myself further west by running at minimum 3 hours to ensure the safety from TBC.

Since then Goodman shows up at my front door every once in a while and knocks asking if I would like to come out and play.

Needless to say I have a new friendemy to play with. (Still working on that character for you to fight with Goodman. Was a great fight cant wait to do it again.)

Hell of a lot of effort. ..guess it's good there are ways to protect your scents. I see the logic behind 'if they didn't want it, you couldn't build on it'. Thanks for the explanation instead of insult.
