is salem down or am i only one with troubles?

then i couldnt relog again says im already logged in even after 5 min.

I think it is down as I am unable to log in too. got disconnected as I was somewhat close to a bear so hopefully he didn't agro on me as I found an Indian feather about a minute beforehand.

Check to see if Java is still running. Sometimes it doesn't shut down properly after quitting (alt+f4 or the [X]) and you need to manually stop the process. Open up Task Manager (if you're using Windows), go to the Processes tab and look through the list for java.exe or javaw.exe. Right click it and select "End Process" and confirm. You should be able to log back in within 20-30 seconds.
