Black Friday Salem

Postby Heffernan » Fri Nov 06, 2015 6:32 pm

so JC.....

will we have these back? for those not knowing last year there was a Black Firday sale where they opened a special area in providence and made stalls that sell all items at 10% so people could get themself stocked up on items (to be fair that was when we had like 10 inventory capacity) opened it for 10minutes and then close again.

the items had such a high discount that the devs didnt want people to run out and back in, everyone was allowed 1 load.

makes sense but could have done it differently... like when you bought an item it went in to an inventory shown when you opened the shop... you could buy and sell(return items you misclicked) as much as you wanted all day... and at the end of the day(s) the shops would close and what ever was in your shops temp inventory would be sent to you threw the mail system.
*tho to be fair i realize the mailing system has been upgraded since then... maybe this year*

actually that would be ***** stupid, make zero sense, be completely out of character to the real world event it is supposed to parody and the way it was done last year was perfect.

at the dock there was a single tile path out into the ocean near claim edge to a wooden island with stalls

the first ten (think it was ten may have been 15 or 20) people in line got all the standard deals + access to one doorbuster stall that was deleted after that initial group, doorbuster stall had great **** like snake skulls for 500s, golden goose for 10k, town deed for 1k etc. other stalls still had good deals as well just cant remember what because inventory was limited and i bought all town deeds.

the idea being that those who stood in line the longest thus being part of the event got the best deals, just like the real black friday every year.

for those of us who were there this setup created hours of entertainment as people tried all manner of tricks to cut in front of one another and brought their witches in to try to curse folks in line etc, since you could only spend money you had on you there was the inherent risk of getting **** on and losing tens of thousands of silver.

like everything else i have seen you suggest here your way is the communist/liberal "everyone gets a trophy" mentality, which defeats the entire point of having said trophy in the first place.

i hope it is done exactly like last year, with all the new **** that has been added in game (tickling, pushing, higher tiers of witch stuff and a few dozen things i do not care to mention in public) it will be quite treacherous for those trying to get in on the doorbuster deals.

Wow... so if you are new to the game... blow off the event entire.

Let's call it old fart's give away...and enjoy.

What's the point of trying to compete in an event that's heavily weighed against anyone who hasn't played every day since alpha?

Why bother with an event at all?

Just mail the top 20 their stuff...and have done.

Enjoy what entertainment you can wring from it... who knows... maybe we'll target you old fart's holding for a raid and trial by combat... will you stand in line still thinking your defenses are full proof... without you there....

But you'd have to give up that spot in line...

ROFL... or maybe you can make the Black Friday line up for small crimes- tomatoe attacks and whips... any defense by those in line... is grounds for losing their spot... any hits are counted as if they are stocks!
If they KO is line... as of today... they are dead forever... I'd show up for that!

you are an idiot, there was newbie stuff and veteran stuff and it was not limited other than the first stall with the geese and skulls, if i remember the town deeds i bought were on the generic stalls. it was held in town limits, if you can avoid getting killed in town you could have done the same at the event.

last year was perfect. i had started playing again for a few weeks and managed to gather enough silver to buy some cool stuff at the event. i stood in line for 24 hours straight and before the event started, jc gave me a black tophat as a reward for being the first in line.

so yeah, you can partecipate as a newbie too
