Idk if you know this but noone posted it before.
Build and claim a leanto then go to travel -> providence
That is where everyone meets, from providence you can travel ~> home back to your leanto.

Travel west mostly is a good a idea, but because we have landmarks now (search landmarks in announcements) every place is reachable so you should find a place that inspires you, far from providence and near lime and water. Many stuff not in your biome you can get in providence biomes.

If you want to mine a lot someday, settle near water so you can do sifting easily, and fairly near lime deposits for smelting.

Sounds like you need to do some gluttony. Get your biles up. You can get to 20 biles easily without having land or anything really and from there you will be able to defend yourself against those rascally rabbits. Unless he has a very evil looking face and runs faster than anything you have ever seen.

I would suggest saving up just 150 silver buying the claim and then grow it over time if someone steals from you rest assured it should not be too hard to replace. Also if you cannot protect your claim yet I would suggest that you keep your silver in the bank.

If someone does steal from you then I would take the scent and give it to someone from the forums they may be interested in stocking the person on your behalf so they can work the thief over real good.
