Computer Freeze at loading

Hi,

When starting Salem my computer completely freezes. CTRL+ALT+DEL, ALT+F4, WinButton doesn't work. Mouse wont move. Youtube plays until it reaches the end of buffering though once the computer is frozen (but it stops buffering instantly) and I can hear the sound. Besides from that the computer is completely frozen as far as I can see.

Strange is Salem worked perfectly yesterday until I tried to log off via upper-right X button it froze and I forced shutdown on the computer (7sec + Power off..).

It freezes when GUI is loaded, the 3d-environment is black and a textlabel "Loading..." is present after approx 10sec.

Same happens when creating a new character
Emptied Java-cache
Same issue on Java 6 and Java 7 (updated today to Java 7 but it didn't solve the issue..)
Restarted computer (obviously..)
Tried both Ender and Official client.
No new graphic drivers available (It worked yesterday so I don't see why it would solve the problem anyways).

Do you have the most recent display drivers? Are they installed correctly? Did you uninstall the drivers properly the last time you updated?

Have you changed any of the default ATI settings? Has there been any updates to your computer in the last 24 hours?

this happend to me and after the freeze my screen is black then it comes back and salem is white screened and ive done everything you have it wont work :/ :cry:

The most recent drivers according to the entity manager, and I still don't see why they would have been the issue since they've worked just fine before. There was new Windows Updates available which was installed after the initial freeze. They did not change the issue in any way and it was present before.

The game ran perfectly and then I quit Salem - the first freeze appeared. At that point no changes in updates or anything had occurred. I forceshutdown the comp and afterwards the game continued to freeze. At this point I started to update, but the issue persisted.

So to answer your questions with a single answer: No updates or software were installed between errorfree Salem and freezing Salem. All updates and such have been installed after the problem appeared in order to attempt to fix the problem, which they haven't.

EDIT: Windows Entity Manager isn't the best at finding the latest, so I manually downloaded the latest and installing it right now. Will report back soon with results.

EDIT2: ISSUE SOLVED!!!

Resolution steps:

Uninstalled drivers -> Reboot -> Install newest drivers manually downloaded from AMD.
Meanwhile reboot, logged into Salem from another computer and logged out.
Profit!
