Aeolian skill vs Instrument

Postby Frotted » Thu Oct 22, 2015 8:37 pm

Precious little on this overall.

Do we have a list yet:

Instrument vs Biome conversion? Is it set or is it random the first time you try?

And can you just pluck random notes or do you need sheet music?

Either one costs inspiration.

It's been long enough; surely someone will share?

I'm could get it anyday now; but I've focused on Hoarder... I do have tap drum from Mystery Music box though... almost can't wait to see...

Harp changes Biome to Autumnal.
Viola changes the Biome to Shrub
Banjo changes the Biome to greenwood

It takes about 1000Isp per note
Random notes change the biome faster then just pressing the same notes over and over again (according to JC)
The area affected is about 6X6 - 10X10
Not every note played will change a tile and tiles that have already changed can still be affected (and thus will be wasted)

Best way to change a large area is to turn it all to dirt (pave and dig works well) and then play on the dirt. After you have the area 'seeded' leave it to take over.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Interesting- so many possibilities... unanswered.

Good for me... bad for you.

not really, they are pretty cut and dry. It is fun to mess with the checker board though.

So it works in town too?

I was going to start testing in the snow covered fields on a MTN top... ofc you don't think that would be intrusive game-play?~!

Not sure about the snow biome, i know water tiles cant be changed but I cant see much point with messing in the snow biomes since most people don't bother to venture up there. Might as well draw graffiti on an abandoned estate with all the reaction it would get. I do however know that there is no Instrument to cause the snow biome.

Dude listen to yourself- 'since mostw people don't bother to venture up there'... that's like the deep dark... can you imagine any other place to build a strong hold that's likely to be execpt from Raiders immmediate purview?

Maybe not now... but in really all day long.

Yet to see what instruments will do; but I'd never discount it's power... no matter where it's effective.

Oh I'm sure such a base would be viable but with the Inspiration and work it would take to set biomes to forage up there, and hopefully spawn game to hunt, I can't see much point myself. I do have to admit that it is nice big goal to set one's self, and Salem can be greatly enhanced when you have a plan or a goal to work towards. I must however note that, much like paving, any biome change will show up on the map. Thankfully mountains tend to be annoying to scale long before their tops can be seen.
