Kandarim wrote:@kataklinger: it's not that young characters can't get mad anymore, it's just that they do not accumulate insanity passively (i.e. by doing nothing). They can still get mad by licking boards and the like, so I doubt that their madness levels were nuked.

JohnCarver wrote:hmmmm this is probably a mixture of things. His madness is in fact showing (0) when he logs in, however, his character is less than 48 hours old so it is simply not "updating" because he is not doing something that would passively raise or lower it. The temporary fix for characters under 48 hours old would be to pick a flower or study something and see if your madness still stays at 0. (as that would force an update)

JohnCarver wrote:Nah, its a UI glitch due to poor implementation on my part. So until you 'change' your madness you log in showing 0 despite whatever you actually have. For most people the 'change' in madness was going to happen in 5 seconds anyway. Now that this is not exactly the case for players less than 48 hours old (Thats 48 hours of playtime, not 48 hours of character creation) its not exactly a 'given' that they will receive an update. Although, to be fair, even once you study a single thing or pick a flower, etc. etc. etc. you should 'update' so it is probably not the end of the world.
