The bats do seem to not be getting off when you click them. I had to repeatedly click maybe 25 times to get one off so I could attack it this Sunday when Marp spawned the motherbats at the event.

As the river rolled over the cliffs, my own laughing joy was drowned out by the roaring deluge of the water. The great cataract of Darwoth's Tears fell over and over endlessly.

That's more likely Dev bias than game mechanic... nobody love you.

I've experienced it a lot of times back when I was playing. I always thought it was intended.
It's not that bat doesnt go away it just that it instantly attaches itself back.

I also assumed it was intended. Its how bats react to you in small spaces. If you don't move or kill them correctly then they will get back on you. Move to a open area and they should fly away. Maybe I just got use to deal with them when I was mining all day everyday.

I highly doubt it took 25 times.

Just because you 'got used on it' does not mean its a good mechanic. Considering that EVERY player or animal attack in this game has a daze/stun that interrupts any action i find that removing bats from the neck slot is really buggy . If something that size attached to a persons neck and that person throws it away i think its sincerely doubtful that that thing would grab your neck in 1/10 of the second again. Daze mechanic should be applied on bats after you remove them from the neck or they are just to strong for new players. Some people need time to react on it.
'Getting used' on something does not mean that is good mechanic. Imagine whole Salem world was a big chess board and you are able to move were black or white fields/squares. I am pretty sure a lot of people would get used on moving to a single color but that does not mean it was wise to implement that particular mechanic in the first place.

I dunno, but maybe you are little too emotionally invested in this topic.

I wouldn't say that mining during a Bloodmoon or even moving to level 2 of a mine is meant for a "new player" as you say.

This is my experience. Watching how a bat moves, it is understandable that if you don't move or run straight into it's path, it will latch back onto you. If you yank it out and move away, no problem. Maybe you got unlucky, and it was the worst time to be unlucky. I'm not aware of anyone reporting this instance("... instantly leeched on me. Like, not even 0.2 seconds of free time...", so I'm inclined to think you are remembering things incorrectly due to the trauma. I guess time will tell if it's a bug. Your last posts suggests that you have moved on from "a bug" to "bad mechanic". If you want to argue that it's a bad mechanic than fair enough.

I agree that i am emotionally invested but as i recall you lose health when you remove bat from your neck slot. It all happened less than 15 seconds and i can promise you i've removed it at least 6 times. Whether its level 1 or 8 of the mine does not matter. Bats spawn on all of those levels. I am arguing that something was buggy in my encounter, you do not need to believe to me.
Honestly does not even matter i gave up.

FWIW I also encountered this yesterday: maybe 5-6 times in a row as soon as I threw it off, it reattached itself. Then again, a bit of perseverance and a roundhouse kick later the bat was dead.
I too always assumed it was intended.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

I think you are just mad you got killed. I understand that completely. Good mechanic or not the fact still stands that you are one in over a thousand who can't deal with 1 bat. No one has posted about this particular feature other than you since bats have come in game. If they have I can't remember and would welcome someone to point it out. Either way you don't see many if any post about this.

The fact that you tried to use stomp against it tells me that you don't understand why the bat was instantly going on you.
Stomp is a AOE agro
. The custom clients even remove the bats for you instantly.

I think this thread might be better suited for Ideas if you want to change how bats work. I'm not entirely sure it's a bug unless the devs can confirm it for us. As many people have said before that they got use to dealing with bats.
