So there are hidden rewards for me if I were to take the risk and play during a blood moon? I thought it was just potentially rewarding for the witches who spawned the event.

Nah, don't play during Blood Moon unless the character is expendable. The only thing that might interest you is you can get Blood Shards from sifting. I'd just sit it out (on your main).

Edit: Also, if you're trying to lose two madness levels with a Teddybear, I believe you have to log in after 8 hours and then log out for another 8-hour session. Unless I'm mistaken, one uninterrupted 16-hour offline period will reduce your madness by only 1, not 2, levels.

Understand that Witches already win big by being in darkness and surviving it's Monsters with ease. It's all the 'light' folks who hurt in darkness that generally get screwed, but if you can succeed, your loot will be that much sweeter..
