Well... this devolved into bold, extra large font ranting really fast.

IS THERE A POINT TO THIS THREAD AT ALL?

Yeah there was a point to it but the guy that created the thread got crazy all of a sudden so it got strange lol. But yeah I guess it would be better for me to send a PM to a dev to see what they think of this stall problem

You also could create a thread saying "there is a demand on this and that, please put it in your stall and I'll buy x pieces for y silver" or talk to people in game directly.
Marketplace being useless for you personally doesn't mean it's a failure. Every week people are buying hundreds of brains, nails, veggies and other things. Takes less than a day to sell out a bunch of coal or iron ore even, as long as prices are reasonable. For me it is much more convenient to buy things from stalls for a slightly higher price than to arrange a trade through forums, go through unnecessary communication (which I don't enjoy) and wait for hours and days even to finally get my (possibly scented) item or get scammed. There is not always a choice obviously, but when there is, I'll pick stalls every time.

You must be a retiree or student with tons of time on your hands... and can wander the stalls all day looking.

I don't have that kind of largess available to me; and when I go the market... I expect to find what I need. Maybe not the price I want; but it'll be there.

This game has grown enormously complex from what is was... and yet the Market has become enormously stupid with almost nothing anyone wants... there are a handful that sell to the populace... ~ as I said about 10%; that leaves almost 90 other stalls with crap... and not just crap for me...else they'd have the barrels and signs by their stall... AND THEY DON'T.

Nothing I've suggested via Ideas forum would impact those who are supporting the community; but for the rest... wake up or ***** off.

See you later, too bad the game is to hard for you.

He is more than likely going to say "what problem?"

I suppose we could remove the barrels and things if that would help. :/

The stalls are entirely there because the players asked for them. We've always preferred the personal trade method of trade. So, if you have a good idea for making stalls 'work better' feel free to suggest it in the proper sub forum, and try to have a calmer temperament when you do. That would be appreciated. However, changes to stalls are pretty far down the list of important things unless it's something that can be done really quick. We'd rather rebalance Madness, redo Gluttony to be simpler and more fun, add some new systems we've been coming up with, stuff more people are concerned about or will use.

As a hermit, the market is my life source. Sure, i can't find everything, but i also lack the knowledge to trade via forum (i dunno my map location, i still don't know enough deeply the game and also dunno the items real value. I can't craft cakes to travel here and there, etc...)

So i appreciate the market idea. Explore what's selling is like take a bite of what you still don't know of the game. It adds interest on the game. I was also thinking to buy a market stall, someday, but there are so few stalls that i'm not sure there will be one free for me, at that point.

I'm also used to the Ragnarok Online market, which was a huge mess with many players here and there, and you search (or we can say, rummage) through all the market searching for something new or for the needs you need. I like this. Is a mess, but it's also a surprise, sometime.

just...

Those
Damned
Chairs & Barrels & crates
NNGHHEHM!!! Rage!

That's what i feel when i get stuck every 5 seconds... This can be improved! Please, save our mind from raging! XD

Edit: Now that i think of it... At first the market gived me the sensation the game was abandoned. Somehow, those empty stalls and the lack of variety items stock, made me think the market was nearly death and the economy was stagnant on nails and monsters. This is no good for the trade and it's probably no true. There is some way to have an evidence that the market is just a small part of the whole market system? A sort of public sign where people can ask a trading with a traveling (player) merchant?
Something that make me think "Ehy, there are many merchants out there. Look at this list! I should try this kind of trades, someday."

Maybe a sign that one can put on his own stall, that just let players know about the forum market. "For special delivery, ask to Gnikoblah on the forum!" Something like this. Just meta-game infos.

lol what

it sounds like you imagine people trade by actually traveling across the land with stuff to trade. that almost never happens in this game. you meet in providence and trade using the barrels.

I'm not sure why you're having such problems with the chairs and barrels etc, i haven't known anyone else to rage about them.

Others have asked before for the ability to attach some small note to their stall and I think many people would love it.
