So what you seem to be saying basically is "it's a failure because I don't have a stall". I can understand that, system really might seem not fair if you didn't happen to be in the right place at the right time. But PMs trade is what market is, stalls is just a bonus for a wealthy ones, players that were here for a long time and players willing to go through some effort to get one. Salem game sessions are very special, your town can exist for years and any person with atleast some shreds of real life or other activities wouldn't be able to play all the time without slowing down or having a few breaks, which can be up to few months long, there is nothing wrong with wanting to keep some things that would help you to get back on your feet when vacation is over, stalls included.
I check all the stalls every 1-2 days and atleast 50% are active meaning there are new items being added and old ones being replenished. Different graphics on the stalls are not signs of activity, they depend on the number of items in this stall, so inactive stall with 300 peppers no one buys would have a barrel, while a much more valuable for other players and the market itself stall selling shop items wouldn't have it and even might appear to be empty sometimes. Stalls change owners all the time both being sold by owners and being out of money to keep paying rent. There are some stalls with enough silver to stay there for years of course, but I think if player sold that much and didn't take the money, he deserves additional time to keep his inactive stall accordingly.
