Artifice question

My Tailor and myself have been working on getting a mining set up for me to use when i go mining. How much into mining points do i need before the purity starts to rise? we have it at 325 right now and i see no difference yet.

ORE / Boulder purity doesn't depend upon your mining as far as im aware. It is to do with the level of the mine you are in, also the mines and mountains profficiency raises rubble purity/gemstone.

But as far as im away the artifice +mining only increases speed? I may be misinformed but this is what im lead to believe

That is my understanding as well. However I do not think the artifice is that straight forward. Like other things I believe it is based off a random proc. For example when planting the plenty applied when seeding a field is based off your stocks & cultivars and it can proc anywhere from +0 to + Your level of stocks and cultivars. I believe this is the same. I currently have a really crummy mining set a little less that 100 points. However I have noticed an increase in my purity from the same area I was mining without the set from before crappy 4% to 5% in some of the boulders. But I still pull 0% from the wall as well. It seems to land right now in one vein at 0% to 5% while a vein I found recently further back seems to pull from 0% to 6%. Seems to at small modifiers to it. I am guessing with my less than 100 point set I am seeing about a .80% increase in purity.
