Suggestions for food as you settle down?

Postby radni » Mon Sep 28, 2015 7:24 pm

I've turned from foraging roamer to homesteading and stationary... which means im not passing as many berry bushes, trees, etc as I used to... so as I build, hunt, etc, I'm running out of phlegm alot, and black bile. I figure its best to roast all nuts you get, and either make berries on a straw or do the clump thing.

How do you all refill those bars? I hunt rabbits and eat those, but it doesnt give as much blue or black as berries on a straw ( which begins to be a problem once your berry bushes get picked clean by you needing more food)

Tea is very popular. It might be a bit early for you to plant your own bushes, but the leaves themselves are really quite affordable.

Kill a couple rabbits and beavers slice all the meat and make lumberjackfiddels. I would also suggest that you do the needed foraging a make some trailmix doing that for 30 minutes you could make enough food to last you hours.

Setting up fish traps is also advised. Just fill them with bait and check them each day and you should have plenty to keep you fed. Grabbing Crabs along the main town's coast is also a great way to keep your blue bar (phlegm) up. You can leave them in the 'inventory slot' inside a lit and hot camp fire and they will eventually turn into cooked crab, very nice phlegm re-gen. Roasted crickets are also a nice snack.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

What i´m currently doing is having several fishing traps set up, many being plain 0% purity which i use as oyster catchers, then some high purity ones (50%+) which i make sea loaf and seafood salad off.
Aslong you got....whatever the bright-green biome is called, nearby so you can get easy flowers, then sealoaf is a very good food for gobble.
1 oyster, 3 fish fillet, 2 flowers = 1 sea loaf
