just walk through the area, gather as many berries and autumn grass as you can and craft berry salad and berry on straw.

lift stone boulders to find lots of grubs or pick pinecone and roast them for yellow food.

works well till you got 30+ stats in first day

Burseig wrote:For low biles I use to eat only 3 foods that gave me 3 gluttony points and thanks to the timer reduction, I would have like a 6 min timer. Before next gluttony session.

As said before :
Froghetti
Garlic mushroom
Garlic rabbit
Autumn delight.

Those 4 food give easily around 40 biles for gluttony, give a 15min timer, with 90% chance to reduce food efficiency (that s why you should stop after 3)
Try to eat only 3 and look at your timer, it should be around 6 min.
Stop your gluttony and you can start again soon.

Basically 3 humors every 6 min is not so bad. ;)

Ps: Dont forget to boil the mushrooms.

Thanks! Any tips for finding Lavender Blewit's? I don't think I've ever seen one.

Also, if you need leather and can't get brains, either buy some from the stalls or boil birch bark. Boiling birch bark produces tanning fluid, so you don't necessarily need brains, and some stalls have reasonably low prices. I think that I have seen some for 5 silver each. Also, if money is an issue, get agriculture and cotton planting, and farm cotton. It gives a nice, dependable source of silver for very little effort.
On finding beavers, marshland seems to be most plentiful.

Blewits I've seen to be most common in the biome that spawns honeysuckle kudzu and tumbleweeds. I wanna say shrub but I'm rusty on my salem nerdiness :) Best advice anyone can give you is read the wiki, read the forums, and start theorycrafting a bit. It might take some of the mystique out but it'll definetly help you progress.

Do some researchs, Your first 30-40 all humors can be gained within your first few hours of gameplay, on nothing more than foraged bugs, berrys and nuts. You shouldnt neeed to be killing animals yet, as for leather you really should be foraging dried snake skins from hollow stumps / logs, It is much easier in the early stages of gameplay.

As for beaver hunting, if you have the skill to kill them and basic punching uppercut + stomp, you can kill them with 10 humors.

Live and learn.

I've been reading wiki since I first started playing, it is very helpful but it doesn't have answer for my questions. As for Yellow Bile, I already managed to level it up, I'm now following what I believe to be the right path and I'll be hunting beavers soon :) Thanks everyone for your help.

I'll give you some more cheap things for early lvls or small characters:

Cooked carrots, awesome for phlegm, granted you need to grow them in pots first, but it's doable.
Also pot-able: fried lavender for phlegm, plain wild garlic for red, all super effective

Fishtraps! :-)
Note: you can just gather reeds for fibres, spam traps, fill them with whatever you got, from wood choppings to all plants & meat & ...
You can dry fish, drying racks are cheap and dried fish is quite nice for low lvls serving all colors, just takes long to dry.
Also from fishtraps:
Crusted crawdads, very nice for blood.
Oyster, either smoked (I know, not newbie friendly) or almost as good in form of fried oysters, both for black.
Or, again if you got pots to grow stuff: red seafood salad

Also sizzled grubs used to be small but nice for yellow, were nerfed though for no reason. :(

Also berrys, you can grow them in pots (yellow, blue) or plant bushes (red, black) (or dig out and carry home bushes if you cant plant them yet).
Berries on a straw is quite good for low lvls and even doable just by walking around and picking up stuff.

Nuts are also quite useful for all colors simply as nutcracker suite if you can grow red bellpeppers in pots, with those it also restores the meat foodgroup, or slugs&bugs with green.
Salty nuts is a bit more work for gathering the salt, but I heard you can gather a lot on the shores of providence and some other places.
Also note: Squirrel cuts used as "any raw cut" in garlic spitroast and garlic rabbit restores the nuts foodgroup.
