13 ore and 12 lime is ideal.
I don't suggest using more lime than ore at any point for the simple fact that your lime quarry is going to empty as you draw from it but you will never empty a mine of ore.

If that's the place I think it is, the stream is behind you and a bit to the right from this perspective -- a really nice spot too since it gives you enough ground space to keep the edges down so you don't end up with the whole thing locked in "too steep"

But no matter how well you keep the ground and lime leveled, it will eventually become impossible to dig from, while any mine started at the same time you started digging the lime -- will have thousands upon thousands of blocks left to dig out.

12 ore 13 lime is the way to do it, untill you understand the system inside out.

Purity works a cycle behind Its like they leave a signature/head residue kind of effect and they also have a decaying/Diminishing returns effects the more bars that are crafted in a single cycle, If you intend to make purity iron + domestic iron, try to have different smelter areas, so you can pump out ****** any purity iron in one set, and high purity only in another set.

Silver smelting should be done after a specific amount of iron runs have been done, and the ratio of silver : lime is totally different than normal metal for max yeild of silver bars. (Some good intel here). NEVER Smelt silver in high purity furnaces.

Also a 600~700+ smelting / production helps alot.

Smelting is rather complex, but once understood, you can churn out ALOT of silver/high purity iron with low quanitys of ore. And you can get 3-4 iron per cycle of domestic use stuff easily.
