Never heard that before.

Oh and i read on wiki that splash only apply to walls you are facing. So if i turn my back to new wall, no splash applied to it right?

Been wanting to ask this one myself - what is the advantage of paving your walls...?? Havd heard without paving they -may- still take decay even if they are inside the claim..

Doesn't seem to be that way for me... have done plenty of remodelling around my base...

Keep same wall types at least 6 tiles apart in your layered defences.

Never have a problem with splash again.

Stone, Plank, Brick, Torchpost layer, Gap, Brazier layer, Gap, Stone, Plank, Brick, Torchpost..... ... ...

Holy i m just expanding. So the plan was never to keep those 2 stone walls. Of course they are too close to each other, the old one will just disappear.

I'm just wondering about splash mechanics to preserve my new wall when i will destroy the old one.

@Burseig
yes the stone wall can still damage an other stone wall if a plank/brick wall is in the middle of them.

@omegaedgar01
Hmmm... wonder if that is true... either way maybe i should make sure to pave under my walls in case JC adds this later if not here already....

@steeloxidex
the point of this is to keep people from just building 25 rows of stone wall to keep raiders out.

supposedly splash can splash up to a max of 10 tiles.... but splash becomes more and more unlikely with each tile... after about 5 tiles you are most likely safe from splash damage.
If you guys have questions about radar find me on steam, KiaKun.

Thx for replying. I really thought the plank wall would have protected the second stone wall. :/

And what about turning my back to the new wall? Would it change something?

I made some tests... put a 6 segments long stone wall on brick pave and broke one segment from the middle. The adjacent segments were fine.
Then repaired and broke a segment from an end. The adjacent segment was fine.
However Im starting to believe that new walls dont receive splash dmg.

New walls don't splash to help prevent raiders from using off claim walls to splash into your claim. A mature wall will always damage the attached segments to either side of it. My previous comment was only in regard to perpendicular splashing.

Also, pavement and which direction the player is facing have no effect on splash.
