Hes not wondering. Hes stating a fact that its S.A.D. That just him is the only 2% load on the server. Means there aint any other people with as active claims as Alloin.

People should also note the numbers are NOT UNIQUE PLAYERS counter.

Im sure darwoth can makes up a tidy sum in that number alone, at least 1-2% or more if he logs all his alt accounts every day

Player numbers seem to be declining at 10-20 per week atm from what i have noticed.

I think he means that the server loads are ***** and missleading, just like the player count meter.

Loftar said in a previous post that server load is very misleading and was custom tailored to what he wanted to see. It has multiple factors in it.

Has everyone lost their minds???

Do you guys even remember where we were a year and a half ago when there weren't a hundred daily players between 3 servers? Or where we were last spring when we had 300-400 daily's before Popham? All mmo's increase dramatically with new expansions and some advertising and then slide back into a steady player base of slightly more regular players hopefully. The numbers will go up yet again after a new expedition and then slide back down to a comfortable player base. For now 650-750 people is twice what we had last spring and 6x what we had 2 years ago.

If you had told me that long time Salem players would be complaining about a steady player base of 650-750 daily players 2 years ago I would have laughed in your face at the impossibility of those numbers. The daily numbers on the dead server of Plymouth alone were in the single digits. We never topped 80+ people on at the same time on Roanoke (We had more fun on Roanoke). Why are you guys all of a sudden saying Salem is going to die?

This is about as far from the death of Salem that we've ever been for those of us who've been here since almost the beginning.

Meh, it's been holding around 650-750 daily for a month now.

Loftar, JC and Tmeow have all confirmed for years that the numbers are about 85% of the total player base when taking into alt accounts so it's still pretty high compared to where we were before Popham and before Providence for sure.

Claeyt im not usually one to poke fun at you or any thing..
but there being 600 ACTIVE players is simply not true.... many people are simply logging in daily to feed their turkeys and then they log out.... this hardly counts as playing the game.
a few of these people have multiple villages so have multiple logins... probably on separate accounts.
I my self have 4 acounts and log in to two chars on these accounts about every day... so that is about 8 of these active players in the counter are me alone...

that is about 1/60th of the active players... and im sure a lot of other people have about as many alts as i do... so that is about say 80 separate people logging in.
i have towns of different sizes... but about 1/8th of my fellow villagers do more then just login to check their stuff each day... so using that out of the 80 separate people... i would say about 10 would be actually active....
now we factor in actual new players that have only one char.... about 2/3rds the players i see in town are new players... so we have an actual active player base of about 20-30 people.

there are actually 200 - 300 unique ips logged in during primetime on average last i heard, which was recent. with the typical player (in my experience) having 2 - 3 accounts this sounds like it lines up perfectly with the server status.

by comparison the average world of warcraft server has only 400 - 500 players, which is why they were grouped together for their ****** battlegrounds years ago.

does not matter anyway, 50 - 100 people is more than enough to keep a game like salem "alive" as those who were around back then can attest, particularly for someone like me who has spent a lot of time on small muds and emulators with a sub 50 playerbase.


the intelligent salem player would be using this "quiet" time to solidify their position on the server.

Shut the ***** up and play the game.. who gives a ***** is there are 300 or 10000 people playing.. i dont see the point in arguing about it.

Want more people? go out and start talking about the game, tell your friends, whatever, ***** about it on the forums isn't going to do ****.

the point is i have a group of like 20 people that WOULD play if things we have been ***** about were removed from the game.
+ the people i don't even know how to get a hold of that quit because of these things.

and about 1/2 of them were cash shop buying players that WOULD support the game IF they felt it was worth even playing.

i mean JC is adding new content.... good... but he also seems to throw in some thing completely troll every damn patch too.
sickness serves no purpose
madness servers no purpose (since it is easily countered with disposable crime alts)
gnomes serve no purpose
fruit trees serve no food purpose

and this authority thing now.... no matter how much you say it is really easy to move walls..... it ***** isn't... it has completely ***** damn near every village on the server. :/
very village.... just so people could stop 3 villages from building authority.... that they probably spending more silver on then they are getting since damn near all the stalls are empty.
