Scents should last their full duration as an indication of what happened here, no matter if perp is alive or not. If you want to avoid having exclamation marks all over your base then protect it better so that they don't appear in the first place

Again, I'm not saying they should automatically disappear, that's why I said I was wondering if I could manually remove them. Since I had already stocked the perp and he is now dead, and it is from four days ago, shortly after I started and didn't have ample protection. Now I do have better protection, but I just wanted to get rid of the old scents.

Maybe keep larc scents, but remove all others.

No need to keep tresspassing, murder etc, scents on the server. They will serve no purpose.

When PERP is dead, you can find his base using scents and do something.

So, if you wanted to find his base, you wouldn't get rid of the scents. If you need to use the scent, then you keep the scent. If the scent has no more use or purpose, get rid of the scent.

Unsure if they could impliment it though.

more leetardism. there are many reasons why scents from a dead guy can still be useful.

I get that it has more uses than just finding the perp, such as finding their base and finding stolen goods, but I've done all of these things and I'd like to clear them now. Imagine a scent is a full bottle of water. Would you want to get rid of a full bottle of water? Of course not, that's wasteful. Once you have emptied the bottle, do you keep an empty bottle around your house as a reminder that there was once a full bottle of water? No, you throw it away (or recycle it, hopefully). I'm not saying that they should automatically disappear under any circumstance, I'm trying to say that once they serve no purpose, there should be an option to clean it up. If the police solve a murder, do you think they leave the blood on the crime scene and leave the police tape up?

Actually yes this is left up for some time until they feel there is enough evidence and then hire someone else to mop the mess.
