you are missing the point entirely, a temporary cave accessible only from your own area that triggered it IS an "instance" just like your existing mine and house is, nobody else can enter it for the few hours it is up unless they are going to knock your base over in that time period.

the reason you are rejecting the general concept of dallanes reply and instead insiting on yours is because you in fact know this and are angling for a high reward area that you are unlikely to get bothered in.

if you want something like your post then you should be lobbying for it to be in dreamworld (you know, down deep where the tectonic activity is more prevalent) where there could be temporary rifts and chasms to a number of places opening or closing all the time (perhaps accessible via the doors all over the place down there that dont work atm) and where any and everyone that has a deep enough mine can come down and fight over them or just try to kill the farmers.

If you want some magical like area then you should look to the mystical side of this game instead. A portal to the abyss opens in a random locations that lead to the same location. Inside you find great rewards at the cost of your sanity and possibly your characters to the monsters inside or other players.

Its called adding them little extras to the game that is missing which keeps people staying around. The caves i mention are these little querks the devs really should consider as its these things that keep the players attention and gets the newer players staying longer.

Because its clear the devs want more than the small neich playerbase they currently have, and if they were happy with just fleshing out the missing content you mentioned they need to do, they would not be asking for new directions of the game or revamping huge core mechanics AGAIN, now would they ?

Everyone will admit the larger audiance in gaming love bells and whistles, salem can have some of them without loosing its uniqueness, but as normal the majority in a minority game all band together and refuse them flat out.

Also Techtonic activity is a real thing, which opens and closes caverns daily in the real world, but you know if you wish to call real world geography Magiks, what ever makes you happy.

Thomas, the devs have said consistently that this is a niche game. Of course they want more people playing but they know this will only attract a small audience.

Caves would be stupid boring without adding more. Why do that when you could making mining and caves at the same time and make the game better overall. Instead you want a random magical cave that doesn't actually improve the overall game.

Also we were not talking about tectonic activity.

Actually if i fleshed out the idear of a random instanted cave mini-game exploration, ANYONE that finds it during its open / engaged time may enter it, best post players outside guarding the entrance yea, they would become potentional pvp hotspots if found fighting over the rewards inside

the reason you are rejecting the general concept of dallanes reply and instead insiting on yours is because you in fact know this and are angling for a high reward area that you are unlikely to get bothered in.

Again if i fleshed out the suggestion of instanced random caves, there would be risk > reward in them. Do not asume **** as you normally do in ALL of your replys.

if you want something like your post then you should be lobbying for it to be in dreamworld (you know, down deep where the tectonic activity is more prevalent) where there could be temporary rifts and chasms to a number of places opening or closing all the time (perhaps accessible via the doors all over the place down there that dont work atm) and where any and everyone that has a deep enough mine can come down and fight over them or just try to kill the farmers.

Dreamworld Is a huge achievement, and im talking about random above world stuff, which everyone/anyone may stumble across and access, If i were to flesh out dreamworld i could do so, but as i never got to it even after months and months of mining (stopped at level 8 when i took another sibatical from salem) I would add in some suggestions to it.

If i were to Flesh out Dreamworld from what i know nothing about, I would compare it to a 40man dungeon in world of warcarft, meaning it would be mega mega mega endgame **** requireing at least a group of 5-10 highly equiped players to go and explore due to the sheer amount of danger down there. You could impliment a good dungeon crawler kind of system in dreamworld, but i cannot talk about content i know little about as most information as normal is kept secret or not allowed to be spoken about.

The caves suggested was very vague and maybe i should flesh out the suggestion into more of what i envision, as it would almost add very little extra content to the game, but add what alot would consider a fun random element which would draw more players into staying.

Small random example, You stumble across a small cave entrance that is made of pure silver inside, its already caving in. You have a couple minuints to decide if it is worth mining the silver ore for potentionally being KO'd. Stuff that already exists in the game, adding risk VS reward. Do you try to mine as much as possible before it caves in ? If it caves in you will KO, loosing any and all silver you already collected + all items you are carrying. Lose of prof's etc. This is a little FUN, Random Risk > Reward Cave like entrance im talking about. Some people will go "Err im not risking it" and just move along. It IS fun little things like this that when roaming the wilderness make the game MORE FUN.

You are just Jelly my newb island i suggested almost 3 years ago made it into the game. So just sit down with your thumb up your arse as normal throwing your **** at other players as you do.

Retarded. There is zero risk in this. Being KO does nothing to you esp with the type of character that would find this. Silver is already easy as ***** to find. People will be more like "err this is dumb im not wasting my time".

Also dreamland is one of the easiest area's to get too. You can go down 1-2 levels a week due to natural age timer of mines + the exploration tunnels you make to find and remove the black walls.

Something like this would apeal to new players / starters, NOT PEOPLE LIKE YOU, Who have played for years and have everything, Its would be FUN for them, With RISK for them, REWARD FOR THEM.

Its not like MM need to add new content for people like yourself, myself, or darwoth, we are still here arnt we?

If i wanted to suggest content for stuff that would apeal to you or darwoth, i would maybe suggest a new monster thats harder to kill than all current monsters combined and when you kill it you gain a huge hard penis to your characters body, and when wearing clothing it turns into a huge buldge. Then players who kill more and more of these monsters get larger and larger penis/buldge, then you can all stand around in the main city discussing who has the larger one.

PS: The character that would find this as you mentioned, would be any character (Brand new or a Vet on his 19th alt), and trust me, if a new player who has played the game a few weeks find's this cave and is able to yeild a few thousands silver in value from it, they would be ***** estatic about it and LOVE IT, then maybe they would venture out into the wilderness more often to look for More of these random caves. It would keep them playing the game longer, and they would enjoy it more. (Something the devs are looking for yes?)

PPS: If you are a vet who finds this cave, and finds it useless, who gives a ***** ? You are a vet who is still playing because you already love the game for what it is, so why give a ***** ?

The problem is the vets are running out of things to do. There are only so many characters I can bile to 250 in a week for a example. Mining became stale fast. You want someone to get hooked with a bad mechanic and then disappointed when they find the actual underground not fleshed out enough other than chipping rubble for hours on end or straight line mining looking for silver.

You also didn't factor in how they would make this magical 1000s of silver from mining this, a skill a new player prolly doesn't have or won't have once they figure out you don't take industry characters into the world. They would more than likely have a hunter alt without mining untl they learn your crap system is a waste of their time when they could of invested less time actually mining for silver.

I understand you and argentis want to counterfeit more silver in the jewel and need noob players to sell it to you but come on man. Silver isn't that rare at all.

The point I'm trying to make is that why make a crap system when you could improve a massive chunk of the game to make it better.

yeah your right man, i guess the dozen+ systems that are currently in game i was integral to and the fact that i designed the layout of half of providence (dock club, stock area, alleyway) will have to keep me sated
