These are not bad small ideas. A lot of the inspirational recipes are very old and low priority to reevaluate. Suggestions for taking advantage of some of the new ingredients are welcome.

We have bears, sort of. Two different kinds. And the "normal" kind we have doesn't seem much like a Black Bear. Buffalo did not live in New England, (Although parts of some of the first 13 colonies, this was in the 16th century however, not 17th, and only in the western halves.) Crows, sure why not, I wouldn't mind a physical consequence of having pigs in an area being feral swine that you could NOT capture and breed or tame and that were generally more a nuisance than anything spawning, but that's what it would be, Raccoons, again, another sure why not, if there was someway to balance having them spawn, and actually take things out of your fish traps or even containers, that would be kind of fun, and evil, I too would like to hunt ducks, I want donkeys and horses and mules, but they'll do that when they feel like it. You could get mules, but you would obviously be paying a certain price in terms of them being sterile. They would however, be fine draft animals.

You would look like a rusticated hick riding them instead of a horse, but then, if you had one and some Jute wearing scrub didn't, well then he could jeer all he wanted, he would still be walking. With his grubby, grubby Jute clothes, no doubt jealously denouncing your sweet ride as the "sour grapes" he cannot himself obtain in his scrubitude.
