Any word as to what all the bars mean ? What does a sick animal actually look like ? I have a pig that sort of sits there twerking, is that sickness or just a movement bug ? What are the stages of growth - ie. when can I butcher/milk/shear ? How does temperament come down ? Does the merchant sell both sexes (I've only had male so far) ?

So many questions and so few definitive answers....trial and error is rather expensive, so some intel would be good.

The sick animal is sitting down and twerking. I would get it cured right away.

Takes about a week for the baby to become an adult. Butcher is easy, just kill it or don't cure it. To lower the temperment it depends on the stage of life. Babies you play with. Adults, you offer a treat, treats vary by species. The merchant does sell both sexes, but you don't know what you got until they become adults(have gotten both sexes).

That's what my trial and error has discovered.

Thanks, that certainly helps. Any ideas on the pedigree ?

I thought I saw it listed in one of the announcement threads, but not the order, only assumed they were listed in order.

So a pig dies - I butcher it and receive one pig steak, but four bones. This seems terribly off kilter considering the size of the pig, I mean I get more meat from a snake or a rabbit ! Also the illness thing is very confusing and far too frequent and deadly. I'm all for mechanics that reward people for investing time (and money) and effort, but right now animals feel just a little too half-baked. The barn is ridiculously expensive to build and certainly not worth the effort if all you get is bones and one steak.
Must admit I'm a bit disappointed. I expected something more fun from MM than just being required to build something like 100 wood piles and use 60 bars of iron to ensure a reasonable chance to succeed (for the record, wood piles are by far the biggest ballache currently in game; no way to accelerate/improve upon and quite sensitive to messing up on occasion and providing at least 50% mouldy, despite having done everything by the book). I also think it would make more sense to have the medicine used as a preventative not as a cure - or at least to have some new medicine that could help prevent illness for say 24 hours. That way a bit of good planning and concurrent logging-on would almost guarantee you a modicum of success.

Does anybody have an idea of how to make the animals mate? I have a male and female pig for a while and they have not given even 1 piggy.

Do also want to know if I need to play Barry white music on the trumpet, turn off the lights and light some romantic torchposts, and leave lots of star jelly in a box next to the desired couple.
Exactly 6.022 x 10^23 worth of Lach molecules.
