Pilgrims are made of sterner stuff, they don't have gothic/romantic short fiction criminal panic attacks over having stolen something. Scalping a guy, yeah. But just stealing something? No, the madness comes later, in the stocks. When they get beaten like a rented mule for stealing some lousy silver.

I too had come across a similar situation a few weeks ago and couldn't make any sense of it.

Protect yourself, save up on silver and get a claim, build some walls and lock your gates.
Unless it's a 'pro' thief most other small time pilgrim thugs will probably leave you alone/pass your leanto.

Also store a chunk of your silver in the bank, this way it's safe and noone can acces it....though 15% deposit tax sounds steep, it's a small price to pay for security.
But like everybody says; everytime you log off and 'leave' the world for a while, always expect the worst to happen ( being stripped naked ).

Crime&Punishment is a pretty awesome mechanic in this world if i may say so and i wouldnt have it any other way :D

Normally, you put money into a bank to earn money... Isn't this just the opposite?

I was saying that the salem banks are not very logical. I get how they work, but not why they work that way.

Wouldn't this be where bank robbing comes in?
