How do you fight deer?

Wrong.
With good gear you can kill it even when you have a fracture at about 100-150 if you are an experienced hunter.

25 YB seems like it would be hard to finish him off before you ran out, but I'll take your word on it. At my current YB of 80, if he fractures me in melee then I'm as good as dead. I'll admit i'm not the best at hunting or anything, nor do I have all the skills yet. Just seems weird that he charges close is what I'm getting at.

Again i'm saying, bullrun, stab, stab.
If you use this tactic the deer cannot fight back, so it can't charge you either.

And while it might be possible for an experienced and skilled player to hunt deer with a mere 20 Humors and bare hands, that is not the situation a new player asking for advice on how to hunt a deer is in.

Sometimes i get fractured on the beginning of the fight, my biles drop from 80 to 20. Usually i stomp stab the deer before it happens and with enough panic attacks i can finish it so it's a matter of practice and skill

Thanks for the tips, I'll give it a shot. Also for anyone else who may be interested, I find that if you fight the deer next to a river if he does manage to fracture you, then you can swim across the river to safety.

Deer fight event anyone? A debuff that put you at 20, 40, 80, 100 bile. Fastest and less wounded wins.

That ***** almost killed me, with 100 biles and some gear... It stared with charge and used it about 7 times in the fight.
The distance between us didn't count, it charged from where I was able to hit it with uppercut.
The new AI is tough...

If you start the fight with a bullrun and 2 stabs, then you should almost be done. Being charged at from melee distance hasn't yet happened to me, I don't know why, I guess I'm lucky.

Just try to not sit idly at any time. If you are not stunning or stabbing the deer, then you should be moving towards it (with Guard up if you want to play it safe).

I try to stick super close to the deer, which is pretty easy even if you only have Guard up. At some point it will stop moving around for 1 second, that's your window of opportunity to stun and stab it again, even if it does charge you at that point it should be almost dead.

Hmm im having huge problem reliably killing deer without getting knocked out. Maybe someone can give my an advice what to improve.
Im at 70 biles with a sabre and just improved my clothes signigicantly to defense and pierce attack. Doing 15 damage per hit at full yellow.

Tried basicly two tactics i also took from this thread.

First is bullrun stab stab which does not kill the deer. Eventually i can land a third stab that kills the deer but in 50% of the cases the deer gets out of stun and it instantly starts to charge me even at really close range. Sometimes it even does like 3 charges in 1-2 seconds killing me allmost instantly. Also, is there any way to reliable target the deer with bullrun? starts to get annoying with like 20 tried before i hit once

Second i tried is stomp stab, but this tactic totally fails for me because the deer charges me before my stomp even goes off. Dont know why, maybe my internet is to slow (im from europe)

If anyone has an idea what to improve, please let me know. Seeking help especially from those who share my fate of getting melee charged.

Bullrun and 2 stabs then just stay close to the deer if you cant kill it in that time. it will eventually stop moving and you can stab again. Keep raising your biles also.

To easily land the first bullrun you need to have a custom client that shows you animal movement paths, you just follow the deer (not aggroing it) until it chooses a longer path, then you intercept it with bullrun. It's quite easy to do.
After the bullrun you do 2 stabs, like the others said. If you don't manage to kill it by now, what I like to do is follow it and rain down punches on it. Punch is a very fast move you can easily land even when the deer is moving. 3-4 punches should be enough to kill it. Hitting with a thrust when it's not stunned can be tricky, but if you're experienced enough it'll do, but by then you should easily kill a deer in 2 stabs.
