There really shouldn't. Thats what makes witch craft fun.

Yes, lets make a game inaccessible to new players to the benefit of veterans.

How about you help me address my issues though, instead of trolling my thread. I'd like to know why I woke up to 2 madness levels and my location being obstructed. I don't expect this to be an easy game, I'm an eve online veteran, but I expect there to be explanations for events that affect players.

You have already been told what happend.

You are either: cursed or didn't log out correctly.

Because you got that message I think you didn't log out in your bed and just closed the client.

No one cares about your eve experience. Eve is no where near hardcore or difficult that people make it out to be.

If you expect explanations then you are in for a world of hurt. The game is designed so that players discover and explore the game instead of holding your hand.

So an undetectable curse or game client bug... Totally legit way to maintain new players...

You will never detect a curse unless the spell fails and they leave a scent.

I HIGHLY doubt this was a bug.

Stop being a whiny **** are all you "veteran eve" players this whiny and *****? It even says in the patch notes sleeping with a cursed teddy bear adds madness, go buy a new bear, and stop crying.

I don't have a teddy bear and making a comment about the game isn't the same as whining. No one's holding your face to the screen forcing you to read this thread.

Let's cool off here a minute. This is a tech support section, not a whine fest or "bash noob player" forum. If you're not willing to listen to suggestions and potential fixes, then all you're doing is trolling as bad as anyone else responding back. To note: there would be no "client bug" here, only a server side one, and if that were the case, there'd be more people coming to the forum with an issue.

muukao wrote:but what causes my location to be obstructed and gain madness levels? If it's from a "bad" log off it sounds like something on the dev's side to fix. I shouldn't need an alt to move my bed or do any other silly ritual to make sure the game works correctly.

I don't think anyone disagrees with you on this, but people are telling you what you need to do to fix the problem. Maybe one of these days the bug will actually get fixed instead of needing to work around it. I know no game or software should release with bugs in it still, but this isn't a perfect world and nearly all do. Going by past experience in other games, some of those launch bugs can persist for a few years if the difficulty in fixing them is significantly greater than the bother it causes the users in working around the issue.

Well, the message would be after getting that horrible night's sleep in theory. After all, how is a person supposed to know how they slept if the game didn't tell them?

When people started complaining about gaining madness levels when they 'shouldn't', I know John checked into several cases of it. He didn't find any bugs. He found that they had all been logged in longer than they thought they had, and had accumulated more insanity than they realized, and then the server had not always notified them of the madness level right away, sometimes waiting until the next login.
