No pay 2 win, no pay 2 progress faster & especially no instant endgame-skills. (why can't we buy lucky yet, why can't we buy fine leathercraft,...???)

Wonder why people try out the game & leave after 2 days/1 week?

Don't come up with excuses because Popham is a good example.
Don't have money to buy silver & memento mori's? Too bad .. You won't be able to compete with the ones who did pay. You'll never win the server unless you play 24/7 for a month (or 2)!!

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind it, but the dozens of people that I tried getting to this game all disliked this aspect a lot.

IF we need more items in the shop, it would be couches, carpets, MASKS MASKS MASKS!!!!, more hats, more capes, clothing, paint, wallpaper, decoratives, skins, unique haircolors, unique faces, non-combat pets, unique houses, mounts, decorative flowers & tree's,....

+7 the games getting a bit dull on the cosmetic side, you can only do so many side projects on a town until you run out of ideas, or hell why not refurbished houses? i wouldn't mind paying 10-20 bucks for skins for your character or custom skins for houses.

Salem is a game of a company that wants to have fun playing it's own game. Whether or not it's ever profitable is secondary to making the perfect game, though that would be a really nice thing. Therefore, we won't add items to the store just to make money if we think it would compromise what we want the store to do. I'd say maybe the hammer on your list would be an appropriate store item. The rest, probably not.

The Pay 2 Win is sort of an unreasonable argument though, because it will always be an argument as long as there is an in-game shop. And is unfair towards the MM devs that have done a really good job of keeping the item shop player friendly compared to majority of MMO games, seriously. The silver is probably the most pay 2 win product in the shop and is accordingly probably one of the best selling products. Still, the game obviously need an item shop with a proper selection of products to survive and the silver is kinda an obvious product to have. I'd say anything that provides no bigger advantage than what buying silver does should be considered acceptable enough. Like, those tools of convenience that saves time and effort, but leaves you in no way handicapped by the in-game alternatives if you can't get them - that's fair enough, really.

Obviously more cosmetic stuff is going to be seen as more acceptable additions to the shop for the non-supporters, but due to the slots in other clothes only capes and masks can be offered without getting caught in a situation that is unfair to either those who don't buy (if clothes have 4-5 slots) or those who buy (if clothes have few or no slots). The alternative would be to add cosmetic equipment slots, but I suspect that is extremely complicated to work into the current system as the game engine seems rather inflexible to work with (based on other things they can't seem to fix easily, such as the mannequin behavior). And neither does the game have ridiculously cute characters that would be particularly enjoyable to play dress-up with either. So living of cosmetic items alone is not really an option for Salem. In that regard, to be blunt, the game shop seems to have been an after-thought with the original developers unfortunately.

As truthful TotalyMeows reply probably is, it was likely also a modest one as the game does logically need to at least try to make a profit. Which is done with an attractive item shop, and adding products to it maintains this attractiveness with repeat customers. Thus topics like this should be welcomed imo.

Back on topic:

SEMvergonha wrote:"Sew kit" - Fix an outfit, destroying artifacts and restoring broken slots.

+1 A nice idea with a decent counter-penalty to make up for the advantage, particularly if it's a consumable with limited number of uses.

However, it will give an unfair advantage if there's not an in-game alternative. Maybe an in-game kit could be relatively expensive to craft (a needle, couple amber coarse-grained threads, and a steel scissor) while the shop version could have the additional benefit of also reducing the difficulty of the cloth a bit (making next slotting attempts more likely to succeed); maybe -1 to difficulty per artifact destroyed. The expense can be defended as it's mostly higher slot clothing this will be desirable and useful for. With lower slot items it's usually more desirable to unslot the artifacts with a scissor rather than to save the clothing.

"Inspiration potion" - Retrieves "X" amount of Inspiration (sold units, like springs)

-1 I think this is unnecessary now. Higher level players have access to recipes to make decent inspiration potions themselves. If you have trouble finding the ingredients you can purchase the ingredients instead.

For the newbies that doesn't have these recipes yet there is the Noobie pack which do contain a decent 12 use inspiration potion.

"Personal street stall" - opens a small personal shop, can be placed on city streets, the character gets busy while selling their belongings, and can not perform another task until you close your bankroll, but no status is caused to the player (madness for example) while it is selling.

No, this is a short-sighted idea; having a method of being logged on AFK'ing without being penalized with madness makes it too easy for criminals to dodge the stocks by staying online 24/7.

I am however interested in town-stalls or similar, but it has to be a solution that does not enable/forces AFK'ing or makes items unraidable.

"Builder Hammer" - accelerates the construction of structures (might be introduced into the Mystery Tool Box)

+1 This would actually be pretty nice. And the Mystery Tool Box could definitively need more exclusive items to become more attractive for those who buy all the profession specific packs… In this regard the pitchfork should also be buffed to also have a bit higher chance of needle drops imo, similar to how the flint and steel have increased drop chance for the Precious Soot-Flake. I know that would make me consider buying Mystery Tool Boxes a lot more.

"Giant backpack" - 35 spaces reduces 70% of weight (perhaps some changes in status if exaggerated)

-1 Gives too much of an advantage I'm afraid, so is unfair.

Isn't a whittling knife a more appropriate tool for that though? o.O But yes, wouldn't hurt to throw a Whittling Knife into that pack as well. ^^
