Thorn bushes dead?

Postby Shadeen » Sat Jul 11, 2015 1:28 am

Before the Popham patch, I had uprooted about 10 thornbushes and placed them inside my claim, but ever since the patch I don't get the option to pick their thorns, ever. Thornbushes in the wild seem to be fine.

Are thorn bushes not supposed to be on claimed land?

I posted this issue in the 'help' section first, and people suggested that thorn bushes might not be getting decay ticks on claimed land, so they never regrow thorns or flowers.

Just so you know, on the other thread, Yes said that he was able to harvest a flower from the thornbushes he had uprooted and transported to his base, and that they didn't all have the same timers.

Just to contribute to the info on this, i hadn't really been paying attention but seems the few bushes on my vclaim also have respawning issues. Haven't seen thorns on them in ages.

I've been experiencing this with the local trees, chestnut, walnut, pine nut - haven't checked others... Trees I've planted on and around the claim. They haven't given any nuts for several weeks now.

You may be right, it's been a while since I've gathered any fruit or nuts from my trees, as well.

what about crash server ?i mean maybe after every server crash and time to refresh thorns and trees start from 0 again ?
and i think flower is just a random chance but thorns need a time to gather again

That would be odd, because not only is it a while since there has been a crash on Providence, but some of my newest planted trees still produce as normal, it's some of the older trees that have gone completely dead, one chestnut tree have actually not given nuts in over a month. It have been affecting both planted and original (not-player-planted) trees in my area.

It's however possible that it has been previous crashes that have frozen the trees. But it's definitively not talk about simply a reset of their timer, their timer is entirely stuck if anything.

Well, i logged in on my old char on Prov and he have some trees planted in base. It was like a half of a year and none of them have regrown.

One of the options is - they do not regrow when tile is loaded out (so if noone play near you - it will grow only while you are online and working base).

I'm playing near them literally every day, so can't be that either. :/

And like I said, some of the newly planted trees, that are only about a week old, still seem to regrow in regular intervals (had about two "harvests" from my newest pine nut trees so far, while several of the older ones I only got one harvest from and was planted several weeks ago).
