Towns and claims

Postby alioli93 » Wed Jul 15, 2015 4:49 pm

So I wonder - As me and my buds just created a Town, why can't a town count as a homestead? Or houses? Because, I feel - if we start adding claimstakes everywhere, it'd get cluttered sice they cant just cover the house. And leantos are real ugly.
Why not make it so we can claim homestead in houses? or just use the Town as a homestead?

Town is designed for different peoples with their own homested, it does not give the protection you have from personal claim.

We have toyed with the idea of allowing players to claim their house as their homestead. Who knows what the future may hold?

Well, i play with friends and we usually don`t bother making town and live on one Personal Claim with leanto or two. As is town have no real profit for small groups of player. And mostly aesthetic profit for large groups.

Yes they do. It keeps people from being able to town claim over your possibly somewhat valuable claim (or doing it to troll you even if it's not worth the money) and people also have to waste claim you to get in. Independent of the Trial by Fire, even a crummy makeshift fence will completely frustrate any attempts to get into your town, because you can't do anything to it without a waste claim. (Obviously, Expeditions are different because Cannons can be off claim, and trash walls, but that's expeditions.)
