Small stocks improvement

My thought was that criminals in the stocks might also be given a small placard on their model to indicate what their crime was, so people could know what they did, and better decide how and whether to punish them. Visually it would just be a little piece of wood or something, but interface wise it would tell you what they did just by looking at them or a little option to "read placard" or whatever.

It would provide potential gradation to "do I wanna kill this guy, throw tomatoes, or beat him". People would still go whole hog on anything and everything, but you would have more info. You would also know what kinds of things a given criminal had been up to. I feel like it would also sort of fit because traditionally, people being publicly shamed or punished did have their crime indicated, and people were often also marked for certain crimes. So maybe also a player option/auto marking of criminals who get stocked indicating that they are a thief/whatever? It would be a use for the branding iron, for one. You would KNOW.

I personally punish criminals indiscriminately, which means a solid whipping and a tomato in the face if I remember to bring with me to town. What their crime was isn't so important, the important part is the justice points. ¦] Which means I'm not among those who put deceased corpses near them, if they live to see another day maybe they will commit more crimes and end up in the stocks again for additional lashings. x3 Except if it's an ******* I know tend to try dodge the stocking system by staying on 24/7; I'm always willing to punish these people extra hard - if it where possible. )=

I'm still in favor of a tar and feather system for a one time chance to remove a random clothing, including masks. If they really value their character they could always bail him out of the stocks in the random off-chance their plague masks would get replaced in a tar and feather attempt.

Of course, you pay for that. You have to do things to stay sane. There is a certain cost to such a strategy. Which is intended, I'm sure. Or if they didn't think of that, they wouldn't disapprove of it.

I would love to see placards with the crime on it, punish indiscriminately but it makes sense to memorize murders and thieves and wasters differently.
