WTF is wrong with mining?

Postby Omsdizzy » Wed Jul 08, 2015 7:55 pm

I played this game long time ago. Lots of things changed for better.
Last time i mined using shovel and clipped rubble with axe. Currently it appears i can't do that. Haha its funny i must be doing something wrong because it appears i need a pickaxe...

WTF is pickaxe needed to mine now? If yes why is it made from wrought iron not pig iron. That's retarded it blows up the flow of the game.
First it's nice gether small things to build bigger things to get better things and suddenly you hit a wall when you need wrought iron to get pig iron!

If i get a pickaxe it would be by far the most expensive thing in my camp.
Having item worth 500-700 is just asking for someone to robe me!

Is this development spike intended thats how people should play this game?

Obviously you need silver, not a pig iron. And by the time you'll get a mine your camp should be quite invented.
Welcome back to Salem, go hunt crickets and gather hides for sale. You also can look for something of that, obtain it and create a trading thread here.

Wrought iron costs about 80s ea, you can get a pickaxe from someone for 300 or less

Mining is a later skill and if you have a mine you should be able to afford it

Edit: also if you just want to buy the pickaxe you can technically get it from the NPC miner guy north of providence for like 700s. I suggest just looking on forum

Thx for confirming my suspicions about how it works.

Your post doesn't solve my problem... i can afford few pickaxes but i'm currently using an experimental form of defence where i dont own valuable items so buying one is out of question (well for 270 mayby but not for 700).

(...)by the time you'll get a mine your camp should be quite invented.

Yeah its a common sence that you should have at last Brazier before you can produce wrought iron.

(...)Wrought iron costs about 80s(...)

Maybe market price is 80 except no one sells it.

I'm just wondering if i'm the only one who finds lack of flint/pig iron pickaxe to be a big lose for enjoyable gameplay.

700 silver is nothing. Go kill crickets and rabbits, tan some hides, and buy one

Or post a thread saying WTB pickaxe.

Or find one in a stall

Or find the wrought on a stall

Or look through the forum shops selling either wrought or pickaxes.

Nothing is wrong with mining. You're just someone that jumps to complaining instead of looking for solutions to your problems.

If you seriously think a pickaxe is expensive you have much bigger concerns than mining.
Go and farm some savage charms, and buy a pickaxe. It's much faster than the shovel used to be anyway.
