Damn. You mean we left the "+50 damage to unclaimed objects pack" on the store?

I dunno. ..with the fresh start for everyone on pop i seem to be prospering well on the expo. ..let's wipe prov! !!

Just kidding, I don't see anything pay to win on the shop. ..the closest thing might be the noob pack which costs far less than any sub in a theme park, and only really offers a half a days inspiration boost? ?

I'd be curious how well an expedition that you had to purchase a ticket (per character) off the store to create a character on, but had no postmaster (and thus could not purchase further store items) would do. No idea if the population would be enough or if it would be financially viable for the developer.

It would cut down on alt use, thus making each character much more precious. But the expedition is so dangerous, I don't think such a system would be fair. People who die quickly due to whatever mistake or just bad luck might not want to pay to come back. And I don't see why we would ever restrict buying things off the store, ticket or no ticket.

Expeditions I believe are experimental servers from what I understand, I just look at limiting advancement to only ingame resources and knowledge while also limiting the alt train somewhat would be interesting.

Now i've only recently come back so my knowledge is pretty limited as is my playtime but from what I understand there's very few things that can be purchased out of the store that save you any real time : Silver and Newbie packs. There's some other packs as well that could possibly save some time but I believe their impact to be much smaller. Newbie packs you get the inspiration boosts, Silver you get to learn your combat skills instantly via bibles (Nerfed, still possible though). Limiting the store items would slightly slow the divide between veterans and newbies. Salem to me has always been a what you know vs what everyone else knows type of game, knowledge of mechanics being the biggest secrets kept between the factions.

But developers still need to make money, thus the ticket to play. I dunno, sounds interesting for the 5 minutes I devoted to thinking about it.

Not at all, they're intended to be a major part of the game from now on. THIS one is something of an experiment as it is the first one, so I can understand the confusion.

Sorry I meant the mechanics behind the servers are more experimental in nature, expeditions in general being a permanent part of Salem from here on out. My assumption based on nothing was that each expedition server would have its own set of rules for "winning" or "ending" the server with possible repeats when the community enjoyed a specific rule set.

Anyways, just a thought. Probably shouldn't have piggybacked this idea onto a whining thread as it makes me look whiny by proxy. Not my intent.

Playing both expedition and Providence takes a lot of time and I do not expect many people doing that, especially if using all that time on one server would yield better result.

I enjoy the race to get base and industry up, but in the long run it may cause player burnout very fast. I am not surprised some groups fall apart.

If anything I would like to see expeditions be much more fast-paced and shorter - around 3 weeks in length, thus easier to jump in within reasonable time window and also easier to skip.
Of course that will mean missing lots of late-game features.

PvP stands for "Player versus Player" which is a form of competition in which a player directly competes against another player. A common implementation of PvP is direct physical combat between two players, but it can also be economical combat and other forms.

You are welcome to point out those alleged massive delusions.

As for "this game is 100% not for you": you mean "Either I am trolling you or I am guessing that you posses certain attributes that you didn't directly state but that I am inferring from what you've posted and will therefore use exaggerations such as "100%" because I find it amusing."

You clearly need to have a themepark type game to meet your pvp needs. There are many great ones on the market currently. I'm sorry that you don't see what happened as fair but the other players were more competitive and made a stronger character. You could of done the same but chose not to.

How is CS:GO, LoL and DotA 2 themeparks? Salem is an excellent sandbox game.

They... they have a theme (faction war between nations, good and bad, races), they require 10-25 mins of leveling and they respawn you when you die?
