Whut? How does that work exactly? It makes no sense for them to be able to loot my char's equipped items and items from the char's inventory when i am miles away from my claim.

I also want to know how this works. I've never heard that you can steal from a player when you are in their claim. How is this done? :-O

It takes around 40 black bile to steal from a leanto, can be restored by drinking black tea.

This is why you personal claim and wall your leanto, also build braziers and torchposts to protect your walls.
Even a leanto with personal claim can be easly looted if it's not walled and the gates have locks

You can only steal from offline characters.



Works the same for stake claim. Beds are safe.
If someone destroys your leanto you drop all your **** including equipment, purse, everything.

Okay so lets say that's normal, how would you explain *EQUIPPED* items dissapearing then? or equipped stuff appears as if it was in the inventory? What about items in the backpack or pockets?

My claim hasnt been destroyed either. So if i go sleep in a bed instead of logging out in Providence i cant be looted? ;D

The general idea was to remove safe storage. Before, you could just load an alt with items, log it off, and noone ever would be able to get those items.

Letting people to loot your leanto is crucial because you can not alt-vault (that is, using alts as safes) anymore. That fact alone loosen the restriction on inventory slot, from 3x3 to 1024. Now, is it important?

why is this a good idea again?

This was implemented pretty recently, It was made so that items can not be safe on alt vaults, imagine you have an incredible rare item and noone can steal it from a leanto, then you would only have to transfer it to an alt you never log in and the item will be forever yours, Forever lost if you quit. Not the Salem way.

If you are logged out you can be looted, period. Includes pockets toolbelt backpack, everything.
but only if your leanto isn't protected, most of the time all it takes is a brazier wall behind something stronger than stone hedge wall, if not on popham you will be safe from most people there,
Even if you stop playing people will think twice about raiding that, braziers keep active when the claim has no upkeep.

Yeah, also itchy britches places all your equipment in your inventory lol. You have to manually equip everything and try to get the damn thing off.
Players may now experience a Psychotic Episode where they feel the need to get naked, put on some poison ivy underwear, and party.

yeah i had that a week before, didnt loose my **** there but this was quite selective, with a few items which should have value but were left alone

and cant i have an alt without a leanto/claim? that seems like an easy workaround
