Hallo piligrims !!!I Would like to talk about hunting in Salem!Hunting in Salem very poorly designed.Salem to be gothic and realistic.Newbies first attacking crickets come in bewilderment. Maybe that is why many do not like the game.Have you ever walked on a real hunt?Where did you see the rabbit or crickets attacked people? Even deer sensing human running.We need to make to hunt animals had trick, not by force.For example to make a trap for rabbits. Nets for insects.

Else can you do a bear trap.

A deer to hunt with only ranged weapons. Deer should die with 1 to 2 shots. Chances missed. Example, if you missed the deer runs away, and if hit a deer  dies or gets shot.
I think if make interesting hunt, people will be exciting to play in Salem.
P.S.I am poorly speak English so if I erred somewhere send me and I will correct.Hopefully I informed up to you to my idea :idea:

its a good idea but you need to use the search button. Its been brought up before. Bump a thread about the subject to add on the idea.

Great idea, but only if it would be extension for current hunting method.

Some of those traps won't be craftable by newbies imho they are too complex for basic skills and I can see here some issue...
what if near you will settle hunter-spammer and he will set huge amount of traps?
You won't be able to get any meat for days.
Imho traps should decay after ~12h.

Not sure about that, kind of defeats the purpose of the maps and markers. Maybe if you had not been though that area for 2 weeks (RL time) then maybe but I would prefer to see something that meant your maps were fading, or fog of war was coming in in random spots but also that the longer you had been away from your markers the bigger the area they marked.

...actually let me explain what I mean there about markers marking an area.
I imagined a marker as marking an area, small like couple of tiles, but as time went on your memory would become more vague of where exactly things were and unless you went to each marker you laid down every so often they would become less accurate. All this would be based off gaming time now, not game time or real life hours but the amount of hours you had been logged on with that char. So if you go scouting and you mark down a few points here and there and you dont go exploring that area for, lets say, 24 hours of gaming (which could be a week or so of 3 or so hours each day gaming) then things become more hazy and the marker area gradually moved from just marking 1 or 2 tiles to maybe marking 20 and then another 5 hours of gaming later its doubled until it covers the are of lets say 2 mini maps. If after 50 hours of gaming (a month) you dont go back you just simply forget and its gone.
The idea would be that its all based off your chars memory and that with time your memory fades and starts off being less accurate and then eventually you simply forget

pretty sure if i were to stab a rabbit or cricket with a sword it would be dead so whats the problem.

The problem is that it's stupid! Game should be realistic and interesting. kill crickets with the sword it is boring!

dunno i think it would be more entertaining to go out hitting crickets with a sword vs just stepping on them.

I think it's more fun than laying traps and then harvesting rabbits from them. Or chasing rabbits. Or waiting for gunsmithing skill before you can hunt them.

The player must to feel that such survival in the wild.At this meaning of the game.People get a strong impression by this and it is fun to play. Now in Salem very boring gameplay, Even if we compare Salem and Haven and heart, then the I would prefer Hah because this game creates a feeling which is tightens in game.

noobs getting killed to every animal is not fun at all.
