I can't believe a game that LOOKS like Salem picks graphic cards.

No offense lord Jorb and Loftar since Salem is a great game.

It's not the graphics cards that are the issue but the manufacturer's support with drivers for those cards. After all, a piece of hardware is useless without an appropriate and bug free driver.

If it's a third party driver, feel free to mention it, but as I posted on some of the other "fixes" in the opening post, make sure any software you use is free of malware.

Did you try updating drivers from HP or AMD? tbh, your gpu should work just fine and I would use the auto-detect/install from AMD.

Maybe HP has different drivers for you computer on their website? A lot of prebuilt computers have brand specific drivers made by the manufacturer.

UPDATE: Strike that. Low-Mem version still getting randomly killed. A lot less than normal client, but still.

Just some local info. (might be old news)

It seems that, so far, the vanilla-LowMem client version can be run in relation to a video cards that generally triggers a
"GL Error: 1280 (invalid enumerant)" error. (on other clients)
- I could do a near full new-character run. And also do some stuff with other characters, including dropping by at Boston (slow, but no error).
- Normal vanilla-client did not make it trough the "New-Character" test run.

Video card in question. (as it might not work for other video cards.)
Code: Select all
Accelerator in Use:      Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
Video BIOS:      3329
Driver Version:      6.14.10.4764
Operating System:      Windows XP* Professional, Service Pack 3 (5.1.2600)
DirectX* Version:      9.0
Minimum Graphics Memory:   8 MB
Maximum Graphics Memory:   128 MB

O yea.
