I face cliffs and get stuck..?

Fresh noob meat here. I'm trying to explore but I got stuck on the lower side of a cliff? My guy is just facing it an I cannot move him at all. He must've found some very interesting cliff face..? Please help, makes it unplayable. It has happened on the top side too, walk to the edge of a smalllllll hill/cliff and he gets stuck and his legs dissapier. I've only unstuck him once by picking something behind me to make him go path his way to it.

press or click forward a few times, the character is just trying to climb the obstacle, if nothing else works spam click the opposite direction until you are free.

Or use WASD to move around.

Using WASD got me stuck in the first place and doesn't work after I'm stuck. Left click seems to have worked
