Compost Bin bug

Postby Sunari » Wed Oct 29, 2014 5:53 pm

Ever since compost bins were increased to 7x5 size. Every morning i find ALL my compost bins at 49/50 Fill points (98% full)
Their inventory is full. I keep filling that last point, and they'll be back down to 49/50 hours later with nothing new generated.

Try to empty a slot and let it tick.

I noticed this too. I figured it was a problem with order of operations or something, like the next humus was 99% complete, but couldn't be shown. I think the OP is concerned that you can feed a bin endlessly for this last point, but would prefer that if the bin were full that it wouldn't lower the bar at all.

I did. And their still eating the last fill point.

Yes that is the issue i have, Since i have many bins that i like to leave full in humus and fill points. For the past two years i've developed a habit of throwing random excess vegetation and meat into bins that isn't completely filled.
But now the game tells me those bins aren't full because it eats the very last fill point every 2 hours.

I understand. Will add this to our list to investigate.

I found something curious today :)

When a compost bar is almost full, like only 2 points left to fill, then adding a complete cabbage will not work, because it would add 3 points, which is too much. Still, splitting it and adding the core will work.

That's not really a bug. Some might all it a convenience to add it and lose the overflow, but others would call that a bug. What do you want the server to do with the excess if it would allow you to place more in the compost bin than would fit?

Sure it makes sense! So would you propose to disable to fill the last 1.0 or 2.0 with a cabbage core worth of 2.5, too?

might not be a bug but it is related. compost bins take too long to make humus. it should be 3 times or 5 times faster

or you should build 3-5 times as many bins. Seriously, they don't take up too much space, and this way more pure worms are required per outflux of pure humus.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
