If you traspass and there is a brazier/torchpost covering the area where the person traspassed then it will start shooting him BUT Defenses which were not covering the area where the person traspassed and left a scent won't shoot until the criminal commits another crime under their influence.

Actually, Torchposts will fire on trespass, braziers need other types of crimes to activate.

can you confirm on video? they work the same for me

Hmm, my laptop doesn't handle video.

When testing give braziers time to cool. They will fire on trespass if they are activated, but if they are cold, you can walk right up to one and it won't fire. As a thief this is a double edged sword because they need to be activated in order to stove them, so I have to find something to open and then run back over.

Thank you guys. As long as the torchposts wont reduce brazier dmg i think i understand it all now. Excpet for pistolshrimp saying i need to grind high purity trees to make braziers better? Hwos that work?

The higher the purity of your braziers, the more critical hits your brazier will do to raiders. The Purity of your braziers are raised by adding purity unscathed wood which is gathers from coal clamps. So if you raise pure trees, cut them down turn them into coal clamps, gather the unscathed wood and put them into your braziers your braziers will be better than if you have 0 purity.
