Erm... Master keys can be copied even if they're red to the character. It's why they're on alts in the first place. That's what the "Copy of a Master Key" option is for.

I assume this requires locksmithing to accomplish, is that correct?

its just my opinion, but the game should not demand players to make alts to play on, no matter how convenient it is.

Sadly yes, which makes it a rather unhelpful mechanism if you die without having a "locksmithing alt".

Having trustable pals with locksmithing helps, but yes, keys should be inheritable with some mechanic. (Wills pls)
