The "USER" is not online, but the "CHARACTER" was.

Wasnt this an arguement about the in game character and not the user?

The original point was whether a character could stay online such that it continues to accrue insanity, which what Dallane showed clearly does.

If the above is the entire purpose of the bet, Dallane is the clear winner. Quit crying. People like a sore loser less than they like a boastful winner.

I've tried to thoroughly read this, but the logic... it makes my brain shrivel up and die!! it doesn't matter what the specific words used are if the words are used in the same way with an agreed upon meaning (which is the whole purpose of a living language...). The terms of a large wager really should be solid just to prevent anyone from getting into a losing argument like this. Lesson learned.

The bigger question should be... Should a player with a character forced into the world be allowed to log in on any other character while one character is stuck in the world? I say No! The character stuck logged in should be foreced to resolve the situation first!

The further discussion doesn't make sense. The bet was made, heffernan lost and now weasels out. He will not pay. That's how much his word is worth. The end.

Arguing semantics is pointless - this isn't a court and there's no jury to brainwash. Word lawyering in bets is shameful anyway.
