He lost a bet that was CONFIRMED by the lead developer and the community manager.

I would like to also like to announce ANYONE who joins with this player is labeled as a scammer and thief by association and I will be coming for you.

Final warning to stop brining up the mod *****

Just for clarity I tried out Dallanes method of holding something above my head and chatting with them with a character from the same account but I got a message saying the character was not logged in, their candle was alight though, indicating that they are in game. Clearly the server does distinguish between being in game and logged in. As Dallane says that you could have chatted with them, perhaps he did something different to me?

Guys, this bet arose directly from Heffernan claiming he could not have his character in the game gaining insanity and be on the character screen for that account at the same time. Whether you call it 'logged on' or 'in game' or 'link dead' is irrelevant. You CAN have a character gaining madness in the game while you are also looking at that account's login screen just as Dallane claimed.

this was just about being logged in not gaining madness tho, i talked about somehow not being fully logged out, then dallane said he knows ways to have 2 chars online, but these are 2 complete different matters.

Yeah I definitely understand that, and I am surprised that there was ever any discussion regarding that, which is why I am surprised that someone wouldn't question the sanity of someone making a bet on the subject and why if I was involved with such a bet I would assume that what they were talking about was something slightly different. It is OBVIOUS that someone can gain madness even if their computer is shut down and packed away in a box. I am not surprised that Heff isn't paying when it is clear to me that the bet was about something ever so slightly different from the original conversation. I think the bet is irrelevant to the original topic of conversation, and so it is out of context, and I can see how someone could be confused that the bet was about the conversation topic.

Nothing changes that according to the server, a character who is in the game (their candle is alight on the kin list and you can see them) is "not logged in" if you try to chat with them. Which by Dallane's suggestion is a reason he won the bet "yes you could of chatted with them", despite the fact you CANNOT chat with a character in this state.

To be fair the chatting part came after the bet was finished. I admit that I prematurely said that before testing. Heff could at any point came back and said I bet you 10k that you can't. Which I more then likely would of taken the bet. The point still stands that chatting had nothing to do with the original bet.

Yet you show online in kin list. The devs continue to agree with me in both PMs to you and publicly on here. The offical words of the makers of this fine game say that I am right.
