Agriculture & Upkeep

Postby Nsuidara » Sun Jun 07, 2015 7:02 pm

Upkeep
This reduces the amount of Humus needed to prepare a field as well as the amount of seeds needed to replant the field. The values after calculating for upkeep are base quantity * (Upkeep/100) This value has a bottom cap of 50%. Adding Wood Choppings to the field improves the upkeep by lowering the Upkeep value. Example: a field at 50% Upkeep will require 2 Humus to prepare and 25 Seeds of Grain to plant where as 100% upkeep requires 5 humus and 50 seeds.

Whether that operation profitable?

10x Wood Choppings = -50%
so, when i put 10x Wood Choppings this reduce me other Fertilizers ?
or still can put dross for +200% speed? and other... ?

If I were starting new fields, I would
1) on first planting, use as many woodchips as needed to reduce to min upkeep.
2) on second planting and later plantings, use 3 fertilizers (dross, maybe hay) then 1 woodchip.

Reducing upkeep means you need to use less humus and seeds in the future. It's easy to maintain after you reduce it once.

A field will gain 5% upkeep each time you plant, so as Tammer said, is easy to maintain when you first gotten it down.

getting it down all the way on first planting has gotten harder since the last patch
returns from 5+ fertilizers are very low now

I'd say using Dross as the first fertilizer, then spamming woodchips, is a good way to get your initial field going much sooner with only having a few extra woodchips for that first run.

example i plant cotton:
1x bonemeal -> 1x dross -> 4 or 5x bone meal = 200% speed + 300+% planting

cabbage (now) for wheat... -> 2x dross, meybe i try woodchips use too >_>

or you have other better option ? :]

Raise SnC and use dross.
