Heffernan, the 31 y/o from the outside, the biggest child from the inside. Thats also clarifies why he likes little childeren so much.

Give him the 10k idiot, he won the bet, don't make bets with stuff you don't have.

Dallane lost the bet, as I have clearly explained with neutrality and detail.

The server just crashed. I see my character sitting there doing nothing. Would you say he is logged in? If you think yes, because I see him in the game world, he is logged in, you are wrong. The server is down, the connection has been cut, I am not logged in.

I would expect more than just a small number of people to understand this concept.

Wording matters in bets. You have to be specific. You can't rely on "what I meant".

The "character" is LOGGED IN. You as the account owner might not be logged in to control him, but that is just finer details.
People need to know the difference, between the Account/Owner being logged in, an the CHARACTER being logged in.

JC should just solve this issue and make all characters persistant in the world like he once envisioned. With the bed system now in place, it should work quite well.

For arguement sake, a character in the stocks is clearly LOGGED IN Even if the ACCOUNT OWNER is Logged out, hence you are able to whip/kill/etc on him, if he were "LOGGED OUT", you wouldnt be able to do any harmful things to him.

This really has gone too far,

I streamed on Twitch twitch.tv/vexusx

I died during Blood Moon with a ~37 bile main.

I am my own person acting on my own will.

If you offered to help me start up a base, I would accept the help as well. I am neutral in this.

HolyLight, I'm trying to get people to understand that the terms matter. A character is not logged in, ever, without the player; that would be like saying your Word document is logged in to your computer. Logged in is a state of gaining access to a server. A character persisting on the server is not logged in. The server is running code to persist the character. Just because you don't want to make the effort to distinguish the two events, does not mean the two events are not distinguishable.

A character in the stocks is not logged in if the player is not there. The character exists on the server. Logged in, again, is a specific term to describe when a person establishes a connection to a server, not when the server is running code. Would you say that all the rabbits and grasshoppers are "logged in"? No, that would make no sense. The same applies with the character with the player logged off but still persisting in game ("vextion"). It is basically an NPC grasshopper.

What do you call a summon kill?

You are "force logging in the character" to kill them<-- everyone understands this term

Its all about perspective, just claiming it to be wrong does not matter tbh. Its Tomatoe, Tomatoe.

When the devs of the game say one person is right, they are right. If you argue with the developers of the game that they are wrong (reguardless on the exact wording) on something they designed / intended, well then that just shows youre.... ....

Well there is no discussion then is there, the developers of the game are right, unless they change their minds, then they are still right.

A summon kill creates an NPC copy of your character while you are logged off. Not hard to understand that. It does not "log on" your character - there is no client-server connection being established. I'm sorry, if you don't understand this then I will not debate you further.

A lot of people throw the term "logging in" around to mean something it is not. So when two parties disagree, you have to go by the definition of the term, not what you feel it means today. The reason is because tomorrow, you might change what you feel the term means.
