What's better for streaming?

Postby Sipo » Fri Jun 05, 2015 8:51 am

I have fun streaming whenever I play and like explaining the little things that I do...
About streaming for Salem.

1- Do you prefer some crappy video quality video like 480p from twitch or 540p and then upload to youtube, or do you prefer 1080p straight to youtube?

2- Do you prefer specific tasks to be done, or a gameplay experience as a whole? If you prefer specific topics, which specific topics?

3- Is microphone a must? Is webcam a must?

4- Sometimes I wish we could have a system to let everyone know whenever there is a Salem streamer. (It would benefit the game as a whole).

People are welcome to join teamspeak when I play :)

1. Twitch is better than YouTube in some ways. It doesn't get as many views but it maintains a presence for the game on twitch. I'd prefer you play on Twitch and then transfer that to YouTube after.

3. Skip the Webcam. Keep the mic. Personally I prefer listening to people talk to each other during the stream but whichever.

4. I'm going to post the Salem Page again along with a list of streamers. Maybe a Dev or mod can sticky it.

Here's the Salem game page for anyone to follow it'll then show any streamers playing that game.

i can't agree with you about youtube ,it's alive stream and it can be like 3-5 hours ,so why do i need to upload on youtube ?if it can be a tutorial video then yes ,and for me i like to watch when webcam is turn on ,so it;s very interesting to see who is playing and all emotions of this man

I would change everything in places, but to madness, I do not have enough strength

Here, I made a thread for it. Maybe a Dev or Mod can stick it.

I agree webcam's do bring drama but I don't think it's essential. I also agree that YouTube is a secondary option for games like Salem unless you're doing stuff like GamerZakh. Twitch does archive your broadcasts for like a year and they can be organized. YouTube is nicer for organizing stuff and like Sipo says it can be shown in HD. Also Streamers generally can make more money from YouTube than from Twitch.

I watched your stream for a bit and I liked it, the mic was good so keep that. When you tried to talk to the people watching that was good, overall good effort, I'll probably tune in just for kicks and giggles and to drool over how rich some people are ig.

Salem is by far the most boring thing to stream. Youtube is def a better option for the game so it gets more exposure.
