I'll throw in that a friend also logged in and it show straight up to level 8. He checked with JC to see if it was a bug and all JC said was that he did something stupid XD

Maybe logging out in specific locations also has some impact?

In the the wilderness or on claim.
Inside a house or outside
In a bed or not
Underground? In the darkness?

yes, a friend had the same happening

i told JC i logged off with 0 madness/insanity and logged on with lvl6-7 and he said its cuz i didnt log off right altho i used the bed..

JC said this to me, that my friend must have done something very stupid / insane.

It could be JC trolling him, and if it is i am rather concerned. Adding a few madness levels for some fun, sure, but buffing it directly to level 8.

ill talk more with him on the subject, maybe he was over burdened who knows.


EDIT: After speaking with him, he done nothing out of the ordernary, he was not over burdoned, he had only done tree chopping, stump destroying, and foraging flowers / stuidying since the patch.

2nd EDIT: Friend just had a steel shovel turn into a questionably usable shovel, is this steel shovel now worthless ???

Ha- I've had the same crap happening to me, I don't think that JC did it by himself tho, rofl that'd be funny tho. Why I'd only got to level 8 then, instead of 9
