I suspect it is not inconsistent at all. More that Coal increases speed at the cost of plenty and you had various plenty rolls on the fields thus changing the amount of coal that was allowed to be thrown on it.

P.S. Your plenty is probably all trash now :). Congrats.

It is no longer intended that players take fields ALL the way down to the bottom upkeep in a single planting now.

I'm curious, with this patch are we saying new players need not apply? There is no way a new player can afford most of the measures to alleviate insanity. Does insanity bleed off naturally while you are offline? Or is Salem now the game of sitting around fishing and whittling all day long?

This is nowhere near accurate. New players do have about 30-50 play hours of which they will need to spend approx 2 of them gathering silver to combat this mechanic ASSUMING they have taken 0 counter-measured against losing their sanity of the course of those play hours.

The gains against insanity from music instruments were balanced based against how much inspiration the instrument costs.

there were 300 fields, you now need 600. Total 150 trees cut down ... (You underestimate frenzy players).

Why did you have that many fields that were at max upkeep in the first place?
