"Thought and Planning"

A new skill called Thought and Planning - would allow the making of marking flags. These markers would require (1 sharpened stick and 1 cleaned cotton), and after placed they would automatically disappear in 48 hours. They would not hinder movement or construction in any way. They would be a tool for laying out dig areas, town planning, walls and boundry stone layouts, ect. This would not only be useful for individual planning but for towns as well when not all players are online at the same time. It would allow a person with a vision and plan to convey to others who are assisting with a project.

Prerequisites: A Formal Education and Humble Abodes.

Sounds handy, but you can just pave the spot you want work done on.

Would be useful if you had access to different colors depending on the type of cotton you use. But at the same time we got signs...

This. I like your idea, but signs are easier to make and can serve the same purpose.

Sure Paving and signs both work but flags seem really nice though.

I mean, what if this was actually just a new type of paving that looked like a flag, would only really require a texture no additional skills or crafts. I'd suggest pectin because there are 4 different colors and it has few uses as it stands.

You do realise this isn't something that can waste devs time.
It's a super tiny addition, otherwise you could say the same thing that you just said to clay pavement, dross pavement, granite pavement, all the new ground graphics for items etc.

That stuff is useful and adds to the game. If you want to plan something out now there are MANY ways to do it. So yes since this ability is in game then it is a waste of time.

Yuo could also do what I'm sure eery large town does and use an excel sheet / Googledoc and have each cell be a equal to a cell in-game and build your base off of that. Easier to change stuff and much faster for planning
