Well, when was the last time you scanned your PC for viruses / malware? Maybe it's some keylogger messing with input devices.
If your PC is clean then maybe try to reinstall java 6

I was playing around a little bit a couple of days ago and noticed the escape key doesn't quite function the same way it did. I may have the right answer but the wrong solution. I don't have time to test right now, but I'll see if I can reproduce this sometime today. If you can, try to take note of every single key press and click. I know it's a lot to ask, but it could be something simple you're doing or something complex in the client taking many actions to break.
