killing tons of bats?

so i got my second layer of my mine and there are about 15 bats or so in there. i was wondering if there was a trick or a tip to kill them as i cannot enter that second layer without death coming in less than a second after the layer loads...

I think they disappear after a while. I had the same issue 1 week ago.

Use a halberd and spam cleave to kill the all. However once you enter combat you get get one on your neck. Also just try to move away from them and continue to use cleave. After they are dead, finish the last one off on your neck.

way easier if he has no halberd, join the second mine level and instaspam the button for stomp = all dead

Mehh, personal preference. Stomp takes a bit and gets interrupted easily though. Cleave is quite fast and if you get away from them you can just spam it.

You can always just wait 5-10 mins and go in if you don't want to deal with them.

Thats what i did because i was too weak to fight them. Even with stomp.

Not a big deal. They are fairly worthless

Without a weapon, I find roundhouse kick works much better than stomp.
Also, enders newest version has auto remove bat from neck feature that helps.

I think this situation should be clearly distinguished from bats spawning when you mine. Because then AOE attacks are not a good idea - they will instantly aggro all the bats. And it seems that bats can sometimes interrupt your attacks - I got KOd twice after trying to roundhouse 4 bats that spawned and getting it interrupted few times in a row.
