I am simply suggesting that you change the mechanics a bit so that everyone can unclench their anus a little bit about recruiting and give noobs the opportunity to enjoy being a part of a town.

Even still nobody has mentioned the part where you have to pay twice for the same land though, which was the original issue of the thread

I know for a fact you are a huge ***** idiot. I've gotten into multiple towns and still play with said towns on alt accounts. People have no idea its me and all the accounts had one post at the time.

I again I say that the only reason you don't have a town is your own fault.

Pay twice for the same land? How big of a pclaim are you wanting to make in a village? You don't need much room at all in a plot. It's not a issue at all.

There are systems that you can use to recruit people in relative safety.
The trial membership as explained by JC (I do have trouble with that however as a trial member cannot use a finery forge/pave/dig, etc). True a trial member can still open gates if they have keys but then it really depends on what type of town you want to be.
If you are group of hermits, each his own plot, then there shouldn't be any problems. Players choose who to trust in the village and the Vclaim is only here to protect against raiders.
If you are a communal town, sharing facilities, then you can build another village somewhere else to try out new members or give candidates task to see if they "worthy" to join the village.

Forum rep is indeed a tool for towns to recruit as it shows dedication to the game. Quite frankly I'm more annoyed by people who leave the game without saying anything rather than thieves and traitors. At least the latter put on some animation.
A master deceiver will always manage to pass through the net but why would he bother destroying your town from the inside unless you are one of the major faction? And if you are a major faction then you have the means to build another test town for newbies. Moreover, sometimes I'd gladly pay some materials/money to see who can really be trusted and who can't.

Spare the rod and spoil the child
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Well guys I grinded 8.5k finally and I'm going to experience running a village first hand...

After a couple months I will report back if I still feel the same way about villages.
