Copper mining quick question

Try branch mining and work towards making squares out of the level you are on or want to mine in. You are bound to hit one quickly then from my experience.

Sorry for bringing a dead thread back to life, but I just have one question on finding copper:

Do copper tiles and mined ores look different than iron? I've been digging like crazy but am still yet to find anything besides iron.

Yes, copper tiles have brown / orange walls

Is having 1 universal type mine still relevant? Using a dousing rode shows copper and iron mines.

All Mines now spawn with all types of Minerals in them.

Here you can see iron ore tiles on my left and copper ore tiles on my right.
